My cob is in daily work with one or two days off a week and she is very lazy. she is sound and fit. she is currently being fed on baileys endurance mix and chaff and shes out in the field at night. Can anyone reccommend a feed which will give her more umf, or do you have experience of any feed working well for your lazy horse? Any ideas peeps? thanks x

comp mix or oil tiger oats. Are you sure there is no under lieing prob if you say she is fit she shoild have the oomph and stamina there?

might be worth a blood test, friend has just had pone done who was being a very lazy newfie and he has an underlying bacterial infection, he has always been very laid back so it was difficult to tell. He has already perked up a bit.

Is your cob having any supplements so she is recieving all the nutrition she requires for the work load you are asking of her? what sort of work is your cob doing and I if you don't mind me asking, what do you call fit? is the grazing/hay of good quality?

If you are sure all the above is in order and the right balance then I know Allen & Page Sustain is a good mix along with a little Red Cell, its a good perk for a fit cob that requires just a bit of sparkle speically when competing tc or perhaps you may need to go down the route of a slow release engery food along with an oil to keep her ticking over.
