What to feed a poor doer transitioning to barefoot?

After a farrier finally agreeing that barefoot might be the solution to my Tb's bad feet, we are planning to take the front shoes off in October, and the hinds off sooner.
I want to change his diet asap to a high fibre/ low starch diet. However, he is a very poor doer and I'm worrying he will drop weight over winter.

Any suggestions please?

Linseed, copra, rice bran or just straight oil are all useful - replacing starch with fat. Oats are usually ok for barefoot horses - of the grains they are the lowest in starch and the highest in oil and fibre. If you feed a lot of fat (>5% of diet) you may need to supplement Vit E. And ad lib forage of course.

Winergy conditioning, micronised linseed and soaked rolled oats. Fibre and oil based diet.
