Currently has:

AM - 1 stubbs scoop of fast fibre & half a stubbs scoop of sugar beet

PM - 1 stubbs scoop of fast fibre & half a stubbs scoop of sugar beet

He finds it hard to eat hay and haylage. My sugar beet sack has nearly gone and dont know if what im feeding him is right? also is the amounts right?

Depends on the oldie, what is his weight like, is he prone to lami / cushings etc.

My two oldies have vastly different diets, they both have various supplements as well.

I have two 36 yr olds who cannot eat hay or haylege. The pony with bad front teeth has a huge tub trug of ready grass and a stubbs scoop of soaked grass nuts each night. For his two meals he has plenty of sugar beet, pony nuts and mollichop bloom. The other horse with hardly any back teeth has veteran hay replacer which is large amounts of sugar beet, fibre cubes, chop and water. He also has two feeds of barley rings, sugar beet and a large tub of soaked grass cubes. They cannot manage hay or graze so this is thier total diet. Im not sure of the size of your pony but if he cannot eat hay he will need this to be replaced otherwise he will loose weight. It doesnot sound a lot what you feed him either. Is he in work? both mine are retired so if he is in work you will need to increase the amount fed.

My oldie is in serious hard work and I changed his feed to make it easier to feed my yng horse - as a result he changed to racehorse cubes, and balancer with outshine and he has been amazing on it - people who have known him over 15 years are coming up commenting on him and he is winning all round him! For me it was worth experimenting, so maybe try a few things
