Im just looking for advice on what to feed my mare in the winter.

She is an ok weight just now maybe slightly over weight but not much.

I dont think i would want to feed her anything heating as she is/can be highly strung but noting bad.

If anybody can help.

I have very highly strung tbx mare who is much better now she is on allen and paige calm and condition.I also use dengie alpha a but have been told by yo this week that is sends her calm mare ottt so Im now going to try ozzie chaff as it was recommended.
I use small scoop of c and c large for chaff then add beet in winter. My mare is on light side.

Is that your mare in your sig (on the end)? IF so, is she a good doer (she does look it)? In which case, chaff and speedibeet and any supplements will be fine. I wouldn't think there's really any need for a mix.

If it's the chestnut, and she is a poor doer in the winter, I have a 17.3hh who drops weight really quickly come winter time, and I managed to keep him the right weight by feeding ad lib hay and then 3 feeds a day of a scoop of Alfa A, 1kg speedibeet split between the 3 feeds, some vegetable oil and his supplements.

Hi its the chestnut.
Jae the black cob is a good doer and doesn't need much.

I dont know what she will be like as this will be her first winter with me.

so not sure if she is good doer or not but she is good weight just now maybe to shed a few but she hasn't been doing much work lately.

They get fed haylage also
