Hi, I have a weanling arriving in September. She's a traditional cob, to make about 15.2hh. She won't have been on anything extra, just mum and plenty of grass.

I was thinking of the Pro Earth youngster supplement in some of speedi beet, maybe some micronised linseed as I found it fantastic for cobs in the past.

Anyone any suggestions? I would prefer a base that didn't need soaking beforehand, if anyone has any ideas.

Mine have done well on dodson and horrell yougstock mix. I now have them on Spillers gro n win. I've seen really good results with the poor 8month old I took on.

I would speak to the breeder though, as many will give mum some hard feed to teach baby to eat a bucket feed. (IMHO its pretty much what you should do as a breeder if you want to send your baby ponies out in the big wide world.) Then just buy a bag of what ever breeder has fed and ween baby slowly on to the feed you decide to feed.
