Hey everyone,

Im looking into buying my first pair of jodhpurs or breeches but im not sure what to completely look for or which ones to get?

What are some of the big things i should be looking for? And do you prefer jodhpurs or breeches?

What sort of boots do you wear?
If it's jodhpur boots then you might find jodhpurs more comfortable. If it's long boots then you'll be better with breeches...or at this time of year, riding tights.

The next choice is 'sticky bum' or not. Some like being a little more secure in the saddle, others don't like it.

I have Dublin cool-it gel riding tights (love them) in summer and the warm-it gel tights for winter. I've got some noble outfitters riding tights which arent sticky bum but are full seat and have a really handy mobile phone pocket on the thigh.

ETA I loved Gorringe jodphurs but they're hard to get hold of now. Hopefully someone else will be along with jodhpur recommendations but I like Dublin clothes so they're probably worth a look.

If you're younger look at brands like chill out horseware...I'm too far beyond 20 to carry off that amount of bling.

I tend to wear long boots so I will have a look at some breeches, thank you

Im not sure ive tried anything with 'sticky bum' before as I normally just ride in normal in legging or jeggings. Would you say they are worth a try? (im learning how to ride/ about horses and their care so any tips are welcomed)

If you're still learning you're better off avoiding sticky bum because they won't help you learn to develop a good independent seat and improve your position.

Riding tights and breeches will be much more comfortable under long boots.
