what to show an overheight connemara in?

After having hopes to shown my Connie in m and m next year I've found out he was graded as over height and therefore ineligible. He had done well in general showing at local level so I want to progress to the next but not sure now what in. I would like to do workers but not just yet as at county the jumps are quite large considering he has only been broken a year, so was just wondering if anyone has any ideas what to do next?

Im in same situation but will be doing workers next year on him.
I will also show at a local level in small hunter classes but wouldnt do a higher level than that as at the bigger county shows anything under 15hh is going to be over looked in small hunter classes , basing that on what I saw at lots of shows this year.
 
Its a nightmare, he is purebred, both parents were grade one and correctly height. He must of just been eating the miracle grow aha. He can definitely jump its just his confidence and striding them together so a possibility for later next year maybe, my other option was show hunter pony but wanted to see peoples opinions...
 
If he is only just over 14.2 you may find there really is not much else to do at County level other than plaited workers once he is ready, possibly hunter ponies until then if he has enough quality, if well over height small hunters or riding horse would be an option but he may look too ponyish.
There may be more choice at lower levels, classes such as RC horse, novice workers, riding horse and at some you will still be able to do M&Ms or working M&Ms if they are less strict about registration it will give you a chance to get miles on the clock but in all honesty I would probably forget showing at a high level and turn him into a really good all rounder.
If you want to show at county level look for a pony that is not overheight, sadly so many connies are being bred now for size that breed standards are being lost and they are measuring out for the classes they should be eligible for but this is not always mentioned to the purchasers .

Lovely pony he should be quality enough for plaited classes as a hunter type or worker if carefully produced so he does not get too chunky through his neck and so look short of rein. He could go on and be anything as a good pony should, the type sought after by small adults as well as teens.
