What to wear for an apprentice groom?

This may sound stupid but I have an interview for an apprentice groom and have no idea what to wear! I was thinking medium/dark blue jeans and a checked top? I have no riding boots because I can't find any that fit my small legs at the moment so I was going to wear my steel-toes/mucking boots? Would this look okay?

Also should I take my hat, I don't want to look unprepared but at the same time I don't want to look weird and like I'm expecting to ride?

Jeans and a top sounds fine. Not 'smart' but preferably not covered in hay/slobber either Boots or muckers fine too. Can you give them a call and ask if they want to see you ride? If not then definitely take hat and gloves. Oh, I'd also advise you to tie your hair back and not wear much in the way of jewelry.
