What are you supposed to wear for SJ as in shirt/tie/stock wise? I have black jacket, white breeches, long boots and usually wear a stock, infact wear the same as I do for dressage. Am I supposed to wear a different type of shirt? If I am could someone please post a picture of one either being worn or link to one in an online shop as im totally confused

I am only competing local so im sure its not too critical but I would like to have the 'correct' clothing. Thanks guys

What you're wearing for dressage sounds fine to me

I'm a bloke though so wouldn't know about the fashion aspect of things

The stock isn't essential - do you have a 'collar' for your stock shirt because you can wear just that without stock or tie. By collar I mean the straight 'vicar's type thing!

Well my stereotypical view would be:
black/navy jacket
white shirt with funny collar thing but minus tie/stock
white breeches and black boots
one of those hats with the stripe down the front
long blond hair tied in pony tail but without hairnet
velvet saddlecloth, fluffy half pad wouldn't go amiss either
browband with bling
open fronted boots with lots of fluff

For eventers fashion think Wurrzel Gummage.
Dressage riders I wouldn't dare comment - wife is scary dressage diva

I would still wear your stock. You will look much smarter. I wear the same outfit for dressage and SJ. Similar to yours but with a tweed jacket, green stock and beige breeches.

I come under the eventing heading

Have been meaning to ask this for ages - is it ok to dressage in tweed? (I'm riding clubbing rather than anything serious)

I jump in tweed jacket, shirt & tie & light coloured jods....was hoping I could dresage in the same but presume have to wear a stock for stressage?

It's fine to use tweed for dressage, I sometimes do and I know a lot of eventers also do, you can use a coloured stock or a shirt and tie. Someone once told me that if you wear a tweed you stand out more and the judge remembers you, not sure if thats always a good thing!!! What you wear for sj sounds fine for dressage esp at riding club, I do open and would usually wear tweed, shirt and tie and beige/corn johds. Stocks aren't necessary for dressage, I sometimes wear shirt and tie and navy jacket!!

I think you will look absolutly fine

A lot of SJers do where show shirts with collars but i personally wouldn't go out and buy one specially, especially if it was just a fun local show.
