Planning to take Kasper to the local show to do the clear round jumping as our first outing together.

Need to know what to wear though, never competed showjumping before so need to know whats okay for local level.

Any advice appreciated :)

If its just clear round jumping then everyday riding gear is usually acceptable.
If its a competition then show gear for jumping is pretty flexible.
Light coloured jods white beige even yellow acceptable. Shirt with tie, or stock, or a showjumping stock shirt all acceptable. Jacket can be blue black or an array of other colours is acceptable afilliated now. But if you've also only got tweed although not as commen isn't unheard of for showjumping either.

i've got a navy jacket, a red jacket (if it still fits) and a tweed jacket.

What about the hat? Can i wear a skull and if so what sort of silk is acceptable?

Not red. Navy or tweed fine. Skull also fine, ideally navy with navy jacket but any dark colour is acceptable.

If you're worried, can you give the venue a ring and ask? If it's just a CR night then generally any safe riding wear is acceptable; if it's part of a proper sj competition it is more usual to be in comp gear :)

Yer skull is fine if your wearing a navy jacket wear a navy silk velvet or just a navy coloured one will do.
If I had both I would probably choose navy over tweed for showjumping.
If your going while the weather is still so hot most shows will allow you to jump in just your shirt.

Rules for our local show is a jacket to compete - otherwise just pale jodhpurs, shirt, stock or tie. Skull cap is fine, personally I would use a dark coloured silk, but some won't. Hope it goes well.

If the weather is hot the show judge MAY let it be known that you can compete without a jacket. If this happens you must have a shirt/blouse that either has full or half sleeves. You will not be allowed to compete in a sleeveless shirt/blouse. If you are wearing one of these you will be told you must wear a jacket. :)
