Ok well I've finally set a date for my first show with my new girly and have decided I want to enter the pre-veteran class and the coloured class and I just don't know what to wear???

I was going to go with canary jodhs and a nice green tweed jacket and a shirt of some description although I'm not sure what colour yet!

Can anyone advise me as its been an age since I last competed.

This is her

Green or brown tweed would look nice on her with fawn jods? Although canary are more of a show colour, but i'd only wear them with a green tweed - not sure how they'd go with brown...! A blue stock or tie would also look nice with the green and canary, then gloves the same colour as your hat maybe? Not sure if that's any help or not...been a while since i did showing too! Good luck!!

Depending the classes you go in, which you've already stated, you need to think about wearing something that will compliment your horse.
Canary jods and a green show jacket I really don't think would be good idea, you want the judge to see how striking your horse is rather than how striking your cloths or your riding is as your competing in a colored and veteran classes.
I'd stay in tune with your horses coloring, beige breaches, black boots, some kind or brown/grey/blue hacking jacket, brown gloves, brown show cane, navy or black velvet hat (depending on what shade jacket you get) the black long leather boots will just add a contrast, keep you tack brown. A yellow cream shirt with tie, navy or green small polka dot will be very smart. Keep your hair tied back in a hair net and in a bun if long.
You will have a professional and extremely smart turnout without looking too OTT.

Hope that helps.

NEVER wear a stock for showing, unless its an evening class at a mjor championship.
Hat should be navy with flesh coloured harness for ladies
gloves should be brown!
