what to wear

Ive just entered my first unaffiliated dressage comp. Does it matter what colour your jacket is ie navy/ black/ tweed? How about the saddle cloth?

Normally saddle cloth should be white or black.

A white saddle cloth would be best and i'd wear a black jacket. If your hat is blue though you'll get away with a blue jacket

Welcome to the forum. One of the best tips for what not to wear is white gloves, they draw too much attention to your hands, best to wear dark gloves.
