Hello :-)

My daughter and I are taking her pony to a few local shows this year and want to be sure we are dressed correctly! My daughter will be going in lead rein and family pony ridden classes being led by me and we may both be taking her in different in hand classes. We are on a budget so any suggestions of where we could get it all at good prices would be helpful too!
Thanks

Just be neat and tidy. Try to coordinate with your daughters jacket. You can get some skirt suits cheaply from charity shops...
For in hand, smart trousers/shirt/waistcoat are ideal- also found in charity shops :)

I did lots of Lead Rein showing as a kid, and I wore yellow jods, a navy jacket, black joddy boots with clips, and a shirt and tie (tie matched my pony's browband!) I also used to have a carnation in my buttonhole :D

This was me on Sophie Jane, a looooong time ago:

My aunt used to lead me, and she tended to wear a flowy dress! Plenty of people just wear smart trousers and a nice shirt though. Coordination is the key - make sure the colours you wear complement the colours worn by pony and rider!

Good luck :D

For the lead rein classes, your daughter should wear riding wear similar to the photo . You can wear either a skirt/shirt combination or smart trousers/shirt combo with a matching jacket. In either case you should wear a hat, ( it doesn't need to be a hard hat) and try to match your colours to your daughters jacket, the colour of your outfit and your daughters jacket should complement your ponies coloring too- navy blue for greys; greens or browns for chestnuts ect.
You can both wear the same for the in hand classes, remember you will both need to wear a hat whilst you are in the ring, and you may wish to consider carrying a show cane.
