Hi

I'm thinking of showing my 2 yr old M&M in hand. He's a grey.

I was thinking of wearing black trousers, shirt, jacket.

What colour jacket should I wear, is it acceptable to wear black trouser + black jacket or is that too much black?

Should I wear a hat?

What shoes should I wear?

Should i wear a tie?

P.S. Im a woman!

I've always worn my show riding stuff as I've always done an in hand class with my friesian as well as ridden. Total black outfit sounds a bit too dark! Do you have a hacking jacket?

No I'm new to this so i have NOTHING!

I know i ened to wear dark trousers, should i go for a light tweed jacket, or navy or what?! I saw A dark brown jacket but again is this too dark?

Could you wear a waistcoat over a shirt and tie? Then it could be coloured and wouldn't be too dark with a white shirt. No sure if it's allowed in M&M's, but I think it is :)

Trousers which contrast with the colour of your horses legs are always good! I've got a horse with dark legs so wear moleskin trousers and then my hacking jacket. You can wear a waistcoat perhaps as it would probably be cheaper than buying a new hacking jacket if you don't already have one? With a shirt and tie.

As far as a hat goes you don't usually have to wear one... Just need tidy hair, say back in a bun or something!!

Jodphur boots under your trousers always work for shoes and look nice and smart!

Another thing...he's technically a spotted, can I show him in m&m? I don't know where else i'd put him, he has about 2 spots (minus bits around eyes and nose) It's complicated cos he's a wild pony, with a fake passport So i don't know what he is or where he comes from! This is my first year of showing so I am a complete and utter novice...I did not realise how complicated it could get!

I think pictures help more than words
