Evening. I am taking my new horse to do some unaffiliated show jumping tomorrow and was told by someone that I can wear "anything" if it's unaffliliated however she's a snazzy affiliated pro rider type and I'm wondering whether she's right or do I have to race out tomorrow morning and by a coat/bright white jods etc...

I'd hate to turn up looking like I think I'm John Whitaker (and then riding like a tool) but equally Id hate to turn up in my casual beige jodhpurs and sweatshirt (and riding like a tool) when everyone else is all dressed-up...
Help

I was also going to say you can wear anything. No you definitely don't have to rush out an buy bling breeches and a coloured coat! Wear a pair of clean beige breeches/jodhpurs and instead of a jacket you could wear a v neck sweater and polo shirt or a gilet? Of course if its outdoors and raining wear a waterproof jacket! Better to be under dressed than over dressed imho. Good luck

You are much better off looking clean and neat than looking "pro..." Its always the ones in red jackets who take the hardest falls! Seriously - just look neat and together. You don't need to do more.
