I don't have my own transport but I have a friend who runs a small transport business and I hire him and his 6 horse 7.5 tonne lorry when I want to go out somewhere. :)

I used to have a truck (lorry), but it was costing far too much to keep up the maintenance, I did a lot of travelling, but with only one horse. So I now have a float (trailer) and a 4WD for towing. Here in NZ anyway, they are a lot easier to maintain, but I did miss my truck at enduracne rides when the weather was awful.

A beautiful 3.5t lorry but sadly the horse refuses to go in it having been used to much bigger things! So we have the transport, but cannot go anywhere.

I love my 7.5 ton 21 year old lorry better each time I drive it...I was terrified of it at first but now I'm happy reversing through little gaps, 3 point turning it, stopping and hopping out to ask when I get lost...and best of all, kipping on it instead of in a tent when I'm at a 2 day event. I liked my old Ifor 505 but much prefer the lorry for versatility and comfort and sheer Yorkiness.

I, (well my Father drives it for me, I'm only 13 haha!) have a big 7.5 tone lorry. I love it so much, (don't really like the trailer) and the ponies and horses LOVE the lorry very much.

It can take up to 4 horses and 5 ponies. Plus it's great and roomy when there's only one or two ponies or horses in it, great for tacking up! And the living area is so nice and warm in the winter when you're changing after a hunt or getting ready for an event. Oh and the toilet, I mustn't forget that, it's so nice having a bathroom to go to, and not a bare bush! :'P We also have an IforWilliams, but it's not used that often, the lorry is used almost every week, sometimes three times a week in the summer holidays, but the ponies don't like the trailer, especially my mare Sunny.

You are probably overloaded of you are putting that many horses on a 7.5 ton horsebox
the average unladen weight is 5.5ton that only leaves 2 tons for ponies, you and all your stuff and your bathroom also adds weight

I have a (pretty unique I think!) Lambourn trailer, made by Oakley horseboxes. Never seen one on the roads like it to date. Apparently it was made for the son of said company, which has a built-in tack area at the front, room for rug storage above it and two big windows at the sides. Inside the trailer, the long sides and the roof are padded out as well which is lovely.

I travel my boy in here cross tied and he loves it...travels like a dream :). Hunted for a long time for the perfect trailer for him and I found it! Pulled with my Shogun V6 3 litre which does a cracking job.

I couldn't justify the running costs of car and a lorry,..2 of everything, so opted to the find the best possible trailer for the job and I was just lucky I guess at finding this.

I have a 14 ton horsebox it carries four horses legally
Yep, I made a stupid mistake, it takes 4 ponies and 3 horses. For some reason I thought it could take 5 horses, but my Father pointed out to me that it could only take 3 horses. We've only ever had 4 ponies on it max though. Thanks for correcting me there.
