What type of girth do you prefer.

I've got the prolite narrow dressage with a sheepskin cover for Rose but she is a princess and super sensitive. I previously used the fairfax leather version on Mr B but it was just a bit too long and wide for Rose. I also have a very old leather Albion girth for the GP saddle which again I cover for the princess. Both seem fine.

It's very common for saddle fitters to say not to use elastic, much less common to recommend using it. In part because of the way different people fit saddles - I think if the saddle allows it then elasticated girths allow much more swing of the ribcage etc. I have had a stand up (mild!) row with a physio who was just repeating about the research, and that I was wrong and this really annoys me, our 60+ years of collective research with OUR saddles, fitted OUR way, is not trumped by a piece of research with a sample size of 10 elite horses and riders, used to develop a particular brand/model of girth. Use what works, but don't dictate to others what they should and shouldn't use because of some arbitrary rule (not that anyone is on here!).
