Not quite sure if that is the correct word, but I was just wondering if everyone has a particular type of horse they like the most?

Whether it be in conformation/breed/colour/height, what's yours?

I think for me, I prefer horses with a muscular neck and sturdy build, otherwise, I end up feeling like I'm on a horse that's too scrawny to carry me.

Anyone else?

HW Cob, not to big, max 15h, Good amount of bone, good neck and a leg at each corner, prefer single colour, hogged and trimmed.

I quite like hogged HW cobs, but it's not a 'must have' for me.

I also prefer horses 15.3 and upwards although I'm more comfortable on a bigger size.

15 - 15.1, well built but not a table top gypsy cob with plenty of hair and good markings. Not heavy to ride, very responsive and forward going but sensible and safe, that will have a go at anything - just what I have in Mr Stinky.

I also love the clydesdales, but Stinky being that bit smaller is really more suitable for me as I am such a short arse.

Much prefer TB's Last one was a full TB, the bay in my sig is 3/4 TB and 1/4 Dutch WB which I think is lovely. Really not a heavy horse fan but they do have to be well muscled. Really not at all fussy about colour etc.

I like placid horses but am not fazed by a more energetic horse. I dislike horses that take ages to get going or horses that respond to a slight leg movement by tanking off.

If I had the money, I'd love a horse like Totilas

He'd be totally wasted with me though, I have no interest in dressage!

If I was a really good rider then I admit I would like a 16.2 LW huge moving WB

Failing that anything 13.2-14.1, not too cobby and chestnut does me very well

I really like old fashioned, compact ISHs (ideally half TB half ID) such as my old horse

because I just love that power and handsomeness. Sorry, rubbish photo but you get the idea..
I also love the heavier TBs if you know what I mean? Still full TBs, just a bit sturdier and bigger than the little skinny ones?

I like short backs too, and I prefer geldings, between 15.2 and 16.2.

I like a chunky MW type (love Irish Draughts) - anything compact and well-built with plenty of power and a lovely gentle temperament! I'm definitely a mare person too.

Went out looking for this kind of 'perfect' horse a few years back and ended up with a very elegant, slightly grumpy, TB gelding! Love him anyway though and wouldn't change him!

Under 15.2 for convenience as I'm a short arse.
Short necked and compact, and I am fast developing a marked preference for gaited horses.

I like my table top cobs around 15hh but haven’t really ridden that many different types to be honest, so who know what else I would like. I know that anything to fine isn’t for me though, like to feel there is a horse underneath me.

I love Irish Draughts!

I'm 5ft4 but I feel enormous on anything under 16hh.

The coloured in my siggy was gorgeous, I love the way his neck is in it although it does look overbent?

ETA - I'm talking of the middle pic by the way.

Oh and Jo, I completely know what you mean about feeling there is actually a horse there!

I once rode a skinny TB at a friend's yard, we swapped horses and I was sat on a much more muscular built horse with lots of bone and very well built, the difference felt amazing!
