What 'type' of horse do you prefer?

The coloured in my siggy

I am a fan of old fashioned welsh cobs but ended up with a beautiful tbx (hint of welsh) but he is a "leg on each corner" type- very correct and plenty of presence.

The grey in my sig is also a tbx but lighter built. Wouldn't want a horse lighter than him.

I also prefer horses over 15.1/ 15.2hh simply cos I would dwarf anything smaller. Prefer them to be forward going but not idiots on speed, although Minz has his moments

Cobs - be they show, traditional or welsh, I like stocky, sturdy horses, (bit like me!) Don't feel right on leggy TB types.

I'm only allowed bay mares and I like something between 15 and 16HH as I don't want anything too big, breed wise I like a half TB, half pick and mix so slight but compact

no particular breed but i love short backed, with a good set on head and neck and far too much pressence!!!! ( they must have 'kind eyes' with no white!! and if there perfect they'll be bay with a small white star & two even white socks behind) im not fussy honest!!

After yesterday do u want mine?? Hes 16.3/17hh thou, v. well bred and great to ride (doesnt buck, rear spook etc) just gets a bit strong sometimes! lol :P

Anyways back to reality mine is a nice cobby type or bigger built anyway 16.3hh+ (have a 17hh finer warmblood - bummer) haha

Small horses that think and jump like they're ponies!

15.2 - 16.2, TB x welsh or ID.

Small, compact, bouncy short striding canter and clever with the legs.

Something between 15.1hh and 16.1hh, middleweight-ish, moves well, fairly sensible, and preferably with fairly high set-on neck- I hate getting on a horse and feeling like there's nothing in front of me.

I don't care about breed/ colour etc. as long as I like the horse itself- I wouldn't rule anything out purely on one of those factors.

To add: If it wasn't for my height and weight, I'd be on a pony anyday. I just love whizzy clever horses.

Played games on the weekend and I got to ride my favourite school horse: a 14.2 black whizzy welsh x

My 'dream' horses are always under 16.2, I just can't seem to develop a bond with big horses.

If only he was 2 inches taller! :

My most perfect beautiful horse:

Something forward, sharp off the leg, light in hand (can't stand horses that you have to 'hold on to' in ANY way). As long as it goes, and preferably stops (we can live without that though) I don't really care.

If I had to be really fussy, I'd say either a pony around 14hh, medium bone, that's really full of character and good to work with, or a horse around 15.2hh, not too wide, that can move well and jump well, preferably of lighter frame or iberian

I like a nice bay TB, of around 15.3hh, and a middleweight cob, any colour, of around 15hh.

Since being in the US, I've ridden a couple of Appendix Quarter Horses, and they're growing on me as well.

tall, lightweight, leggy.but not a blood weed TB. my boy is pure TB but uphill and deep though the girth, but with the long legs and narrow build.he's perfect!

i like something a bit hot/sharp, thats light in the hand and.

Either H/W cobs or natives between 14.2hh and 15.1hh or a M/W 15hh to 15.2hh.
I'm short and fat so I need something that isn't too big but is capable of carrying my weight.
I love Highlands, Cobs, Welsh D's ISH and Irish Draughts.
I prefer more unusual colours, such as dun, buckskin, roan and tricoloured, I like chestnuts with lots of white markings too.
I like stocky leg at each corner types with flat bone, good shoulder and chunky neck.

My boy is my type 15.1hh cob, lovely knee action, nice and chunky but not too chunky, off your leg as quick as you like, plenty of muscle and a lovely neck.
I always feel perched on a TB type, I like to have 'horse' around me

I also love riding Gimley, he doesn't feel 11.2hh until it comes to getting off

he feels like a 14.2hh

Mind you, I wouldn't say no to a PRE if one was going for free
