What type of rug?

My friend bought a second hand 'fly' rug - however when the rug turned up it was incredibly heavy and a lot thicker material than a typical fly rug - although it's still meshy - a bit like a heavy duty thick mesh fly rug, if that makes sense?

Just wondered if anyone had any clue as to what type of rug this really is (it's unbranded so we can't google it) and whether they would consider putting a heavy rug (think as heavy as a saddle for the whole rug including attached neck) on their horse?

I thought it could be but it only has cross surcingles (not full tummy cover) so didn't think it could be a boett.

I once had a rug that sounds very similar, but it was a magnetic therapy rug. It was very heavy material, but thick mesh. You would probably be able to tell if it was one of these though, so that's probably not much help sorry! Is it maybe just a cheap, bad quality fly rug?
