My normally laid back mare over the last week thinks she is a stallion. She is throwing herself all over the place I take her out to ride and she has to be in front any horse that comes up side of her she growls and grumps at even her friend.
I tried to work her quietly in the school on long lines and she turned herself inside out overreaching and cutting her front foot from bucking and carrying on, she snorted so much she gave herself a nose bleed. Whats going on she is normally so calm.
The only thing I can think of is that I have bought a weanling back (not hers as he was injured) and he was turned out with her as a baby but he is across the yard and not even his mum has kicked up. He is a quiet boy and has not been calling as been very poorly.
Your thoughts please perhaps I am just uptight and she is hitting off me!
