Hi, this is a recent picture of my cob, he is rising 3 (in July) and stands at 14hh at the moment. Just wondered what people think he might be able to carry when mature. Thanks.

Well my vet told me that he thought my 15hh cob could take 15 stone. So I would think once matured, and with a good, balanced rider he could take 14 stone.
Be interested to see what others say.

I was going to say 13-14 stone, but then I ran the picture down and saw his legs, which are fine-ish for his body. But he could go on growing until he's 6 or 7, and end up as a 15hh 15.1hh. I'd say 12-13 stone at 5 years old. Let him mature gently. Will be interested to hear what others think. In my eyes he's a 'pony cob' rather than a 'horse cob' and I'm not just referring to his height. He's a lovely boy!!

I agree with Rose Folly, he does have quite fine legs. I'd want to keep him under 11 stone at the moment, but once he's fully mature I'd say up to 13.

He's lovely looking. :)
