Thinking about having a splurge on a made to measure expensive saddle. I always have secondhand saddles and they never fit my Connemara quite right. What would you go for? Can you have a Prestige or Amerigo on a pony?

No idea about the pony and Prestige/Amerigo.

Current dream saddle is an Owen 16" side saddle, with doeskin seat.

My connie has a jeffries falcon hawk event gp that fits him a treat, puts me in a great position and is really comfy and an albion lux dressage saddle, have you tried either of these? I like them both and so does he so they would be my favourite saddles. If money wasnt an option I wouldnt mind a devocoux jumping saddle but they wouldnt suit his shape so thats not going to happen.

The miracle saddle that stretches when your horse gets fat, shrinks when he loses weight, fits me, is comfortable and doesn't need changing every 2 years because he has changed shape! :D

hahhahahaa

Nooo, I would really love a prestige S1. :D

Thanks Dafthoss, I have had a Falcon before and it was great. Will have a look at an Albion Lux. It's a dressage one I'm after.

I would literally cut my own arm off for an Amerigo! A jump and dressage obviously! But I actually have an Albion Lux for dressage and a Bates elevation ds + for jump which I suppose will do for now ;)

I pretty much have mine. I have a Frank Baines and I love it. Wouldn't turn down a Butet or a Pessoa though, they're pretty similar in style :D

My connie x TB (who is v connie shaped) is currently in an Amerigo jump saddle, and it is indeed very nice. He is pretty soon going to outgrow it though :( so I may be selling it in the not too distant future ;)

I recently rode in a devoucoux for the first time, and it was LUSH!!

My Prestige Paris ... It's the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden in and it fits both my horses perfectly and for that matter any horse I've ever tried it on. They are £2500 new and I got mine a year old for £600 and I would NEVER sell it :)

Not sure about the pony but my dream saddle is the Bates Caprilli, preferably in the reddish brown or black. Not sure how comfortable it is but looks rather nice!

My current western saddle:D

Hand crafted in Canada six years ago by Bill Ironmonger himself. I bought it second hand off eBay and now that Hippo has muscled up it fits her perfectly. Dark brown leather, with pale blue stitching, silver trims and suede seat. Solid wood tree.

Turns heads every time I use it...

Arabian Saddle Company solstice endurance saddle....

Oh, hold on, it's not a dream, it's next to me on the saddle stand!!

Managed to buy one secondhand, and it's so comfy, and a lovely looking saddle!

I don't have a dream saddle because my dream would be to be able to always ride and compete bareback but because thats not allowed i had to find an option which was so technically i have my dream saddle :D Which is this: http://www.totalcontact.eu/en/saddle.php
I love it :D

oh dont like the look of that! Looks like a lot of pressure if you use it with the stirrups :o Can you compete in that then? :)

I had a ride in a Jeffries saddle today ,I dont know what model it was (a GP) but it was lovely and comfy, so that might go on my list :)

Poor horses  !! The whole point of a saddle is to protect their back from our seat bones and distribute our weight over a large area. That saddle looks horriific. There were idiots trying to market something similar (but of cheap material) a while ago for stupid money.

My dream saddle would be custom made for the horse so it's super comfy for them. I'll survive ;) Strangle enough I've found the thorowgood T6 cob saddle saddle the most comfortable saddle I've ridden in so far. It's shape fits me perfectly but sadly not the horse :(

I have a lovely ideal impala pro monoflap which is wonderful but loving the new Albion revelation xc I think it's called with the red bits on, it's gorgeous! :D

Schleese if I could ever afford it, next in line would be antares but would also settle for a prestige lol
