My grazing muzzle has come through the post, and was just wondering what I should do.
Should I leave her out, with muzzle on through day and take it off through night
or should I continue to bring her in through the day, and out at night with muzzle on.
Also, can she eat at all with the muzzle on? The grass at the yard is now short, but it's such a big field that she needs to be restricted, and I can't seperate a bit of the field.

I would leave her out all day with the muzzle on during the day and take it off at night - just incase he does happen to get it caught on something or gets it off and has it lying in the field as you are more likely to be around during the day. They can eat with them on but it just slows them down - like eating hay from a haynet.

ok, thank you

Also, I've never seen a horse in one before, can you tell me how to fit it? Does the plastic bit at bottom need to pretty much touch her nose so that she can eat through it?

I don't actually have one but I *think* they are supposed to be fitted quite closely to the nose, maybe just a small gap - hopefully someone else can tell you for sure.

She did look very overweight, though... I'd continue to bring her in during the day + put her out at night with it on. Change the fittings to something breakable though.

I'm not sure if thats exactly the same, but mine does have velcro like that, so I should be ok to let her stay out through night in it?
