What would you class lightwork/mediumwork etc?

as above, I'm thinking of trying totally different feeds this year and wondered whether mine would be classed by the feed companies as light or med work. Ridden 6 days every week, hacking 1-11/2 hrs motoring on with a good canter here and there about 3 times a week, and then schooling 3 times a week, which is usually about 40mins max, all flat work, mostly trot with some canter work. If needed ie being naughty minded (I can usually tell beforehand) then I lunge for 15 mins first before schooling and then school for the 40 mins.

Would be glad of some of your opinions on this level of work please?

I think it depends on what you do when you school - how intensive the schooling sessions are. Needless to say, if you work on collecting the trot, engaging the hindquarters etc. that's obviously far harder work than just trotting round the arena with the occasional circle.
I would have thought yours was medium work - I always thought light work was just light hacks?

Agree lightwork. That is what feed companies would class as so go by that for feeding purposes so you dont overfeed your horse

Thanks for the replies guys, interesting thoughts, I thought we were verging on medium workload, but I'll say that we are lightwork to be on the safe side
