you were at an assisted DIY yard with nice people etc but you'd moved and instead of it being 3 mins drive it was now 20 mins each way (up to 45 mins on the way there in the evening)

you discovered that you'd soon be paying out for 2 horses and that maybe DIY would be best....and you find a nice DIY yard around the corner of where you live?

Would you move? Horses would be out 247 in the summer instead of in at night (so no mucking out!

Finding it a hard decision to make as I'm good mates with the YO and I don't want it to affect our friendship!

Yep I'd move. I now keep my horse literally opposite my road, and it is soooo nice having her so close, rather than 20 minutes away. And I'd definately go for the turnout.
 
Yep a no brainer! If your YO is a mate they'll understand that up to an extra 65 minutes each day adds up to a lot of extra time that could be spent with your horses!
 
yep, agree it's a no brainer - but still a hard thing to do. I recently moved yards, I knew it was the right thing to do but it was really sad leaving my good friends, YO and YM. Had to be done though and I'm still in touch with everyone and happy at new yard.
 
Yep would have to agree - it's a no brainer. Turn the tables and if she were in your shoes you'd understand and still be friends. It's lovely having your horses just round the corner, it frees up so much time.
 
I would move as well, are you near me, I'm in south London too..just being nosy really! I'd love it if my horse was nearer, YO lives literally round the corner but I'm a 15-20 min drive away.
 
If YO is a good mate she will understand and it shouldn't make any difference to your friendship. I think you've already made your mind up anyway!
