...scan it for good measure...then re-home.

Id take it to the vets and get it scanned, then contact the stupid owner and find out what the hell they are playing at!........Then Id keep the dog!

take it to vets, get it scanned. talk to rspca as its an offence to abandon an animal and said muppet might do it all over again when they get fed up with next pet!

Check it for a tattoo, take it to police or dog warden and hope that the idiot who put the note on it's collar ..instead of a legal disc!!! .... does not want the poor thing back, gets done for abandoning it, and the dog gets a nice new home!!!!

Would assume owner had a very small brain, take dog to vets for scanning in order to track down owner and tell him what a prat he is!

wouldn't chance letting her wear it as actually prefer someone to ring me up rather than treat one of mine as lost.
My JRT has a habbit of going wandering to our local pub when she gets bored at the yard (it's literally next door and they feed her cos she goes into the kitchen!) and they really want to keep her! Luckily they know she's mine now and hold on to her til I manage to show up.

I'm not going to, I think the person who gave it to me secretly wants to 'rescue' him!!!
Oz is such a mummies boy he rarely leaves me, except up the yard, when I'm poo picking, he tends to gate crashes the courses and eat all their biscuits. He has also taken to going for drives with my friend when she goes to pick he dogs up, apparently he prefers her 4x4 to my Skoda!!!

Depends what kind of dog it is...
I would have it scanned to be on the safe side, then depending on the dog I would either keep it or rehome it.
