well basically I am now working at a near by riding school and have been offered livery there but the problem i am having is that i am quite settled on the yard im at already

so which of these yards would you personally choose?

yard A
*indoor stables
*own tack locker in shared room
*25x45 outdoor school wet in winter
*unlimited off road hacking
*quiet road hacking
*24/7 turnout in good fields
** tension betwen some liveries
**usually quite muddy and lots of flies in summer
**busy environment

Yard B
*small outdoor school wet in winter
*20x40 indoor school
*barned stables out of the way of hustle and bustle
*private tack area although small
*unlimited turnout unless really wet across the road
*small x country field
* unlimited road hacking aroud estates (usually quiet)
*concreted all throughout
**busy yard environment
** not as much off road hacking

my heart is REALLY torn between these yards and i CAN'T make my mind up

I would choose yard B, personally.

from the way you've described both yards, you can tell that you're already loving yard B....I guess that's the new yard?

Do it hun, I've just been through the same thing. it's always hard making the move but if B is where you're working, at least you know what it will be like!

I would prefer A as long as the tension amongst liveries didn't involve/bother me, Turnout 24/7 in good fields and unlimited off road hacking sounds all good to me.

also depends on whether you need an indoor school - with two horses I really need one so it's a definite selling point for me with a yard!

If thats the case then I would move, I really cannot be arsed with tension at yards.

I would say keep the horse where it is, if you move your horse to where you work, if you leave that job it will be "complicated" to have to go back there to do your horse - or they may insist horse leaves with you, which will give you a bit of a headache.

Think of it as being like a job which offers accommodation - it will just make it harder for you to leave when you want to if you move your horse there.

I would stay at A if your horse is happy there. The turnout and hacking would really make me stay.

I think you might also find keeping your horse where you work may mean you never have time off!
