BH is lame again (unsuprisingly) and needs to go to be worked up pronto before he goes sound again. But.. I have just moved the horses (this weekend, he's been belting about, hence he is lame again) so do I take them home to my vets, about forty minutes away, more by trailer, or try and get Rossdales to look at him, probably twenty minutes away.
My vets know him and have seen him for initial consultation but obviously Rossdales are Rossdales and are closer.
I know my vet will have no problem referring him if I ask them to/ I can just register as a client with Rossdales (but then they'd want to come out and see him before I took him in?)
I love my vets and I trust them, as much as I trust any vet, but obviously I trust Rossdales plenty too.
Add to this the fact the horse won't load most likely and is a knobber and I just want the ground to open up and swallow him so I don't have to deal with any of it.
If you were me who would you try and take him to? Also worth bearing in mind is that I won't be having surgery on him etc. I'd feel happier telling the vets I know that I'm not interested in going too far with him I think but it's a minor consideration
