Hi everyone! 😊

Okay, so I have a really pretty mare i'd love to take to a show in-hand. We'll in no way win its just for the experience, but what would you put her in or do with her?
She's 12.2 and USUALLY has feathers but they're so bog burnt.
She was pulled out of a skip at a gypsy site and has no breeding in her passport. I'm really stuck with what to do with her.

There's a show next Sunday i'd love to take her too, which is a just a local one with a 'cob' class. But her feathers are burnt.
I was wondering whether you would not bother going as her feathers are gone or scrub her up the best you can and go for it anyway, for the experience- or will I be bullied for taking her with full mane and little feathers? 😂

Also what is the turn out for such a class? Thanks everyone! I'm new to showing I usually jump haha. thanks everyone!!!

Hope these links work. This is her now:

These are her feathers last year:

stop worrying, scrub her up and just take her. You know the feathers aren't how they should be but I don't think that should stop you going and having a nice day out with her.

Wow she's a looker! I'd still go and do the class, scrub the rest of her up well and go have fun. I'm not the best at turning a horse out or equitation so I probably get laughed at out showing but I don't care! As you said, it's for a bit of education and fun.
Could you do some basic in hand pony classes with her too? What other classes are on the schedule?

Who do you think is going to 'bully' you because her feather isn't at its best? I suppose you mean that someone may make an unpleasant remark but that is not bullying, which by definition is persistent. It is unlikely that anyone except the judge will make a comment that you can hear.
She is a pretty little thing, I would be tempted to clip her feather right off and show her as M&M/native at a small unaffiliated show. She could also get experience in novelty classes such as 'Bonny Pony', if they are on the schedule.
You should wear dark trousers and a tweed jacket, with gloves and a hat, ideally she should wear an in hand bridle but her usual snaffle bridle will suffice

She is gorgeous! I would be tempted to take the feathers off and either plait or hog. I hog mine of the same build and height and she does very well in local showing classes (i do youngstock, coloured, cob and best condition with mine)

I would just leave her hair alone and give her a good wash. Shes very pretty and the lack of leg hair makes her look more native than traditional. A beautiful clean dapple grey will turn heads at any show so just make her as clean as you can and have a fun day at the show.
