Got a bit of dilema, tis horse related so hope this is in the right forum.
On Monday went to Dressage with my horse and another livery from our yard, we went in horsebox, other livery normally goes in trailer but we thought we go together so to save cost. My OH was driving lorry.
Anyway after the competition other liverys horse refused to go back on lorry and after approx 2.5 hours of trying everything we gave in and someone went back to yard, which is approx 15 miles to pick up trailer and bring back. My car was used to tow trailer as other livery hadn't brought her 4x4 as didn't think would be needed. So we all got back to yard about midnight. Other horse is shared, owner doesn't ride but was there on the night and was to be frank a bit annoying. OH got smacked in face by her horse while trying to load it, cracked a tooth and she never even asked how he was. Thanks for sticking with this so far.
Gone down to yard this morning to do horse and owner of other horse has left a bottle of wine, some chocolates, and a card apologising for the problems on Monday night. She also put £10 in the card. Now I'm happy to accept the wine and chocolates, thought don't think apology needed,it wasn't her fault horse wouldn't load. I just feel a little uncomfortable about taking money, I know it would cover the diesel used by my car, but it doesn't feel right.
So do you think I should try to give money back, and if she insists keep it, or should I just say thanks and keep money.
On a seperate note is chocolate harmful to horses, horse managed to open the box of Celebrations left for me. Don't think he ate many, but there were some empty wrapper, think he must of spat them out, just had a vision of him trying to take wrappers of with hooves.
Thanks in advance
