have him bk but the thought of him going to sum dealer so anything is upsetting

explain that it takes months for a horse to settle, sounds a bit odd them taking on a youngster if they are wingeing after 2 weeks.. maybe go up there take a look and offer to help, i dont think take him back tho..

They can take ages to settle. My new mare was a nightmare in the stable the first few days & now she's good in the stable but clearly a bit stressed in the field. I've only had her 5 weeks & she is just beginning to settle.

Can you offer to take him back and sell him on their behalf without parting with your cash?

If you have room for him offer to take him back and re-sell him for them, minus the cost of keeping him for however long it takes. That way he is sold by someone who knows him well and you don't lose out.

We had a lovely point to pointer sold about 4 months ago. He had been living in 24/7 as was racing fit although had a nice calm temprament. The buyer was told that he had been living in 24/7.

She returned him 24 hours later because she said she had turned him out in her field with her mare and he was (and I quote) 'galloping about, destroying the grass'. !!!!!after only 24hrs!!!!! what did she expect?

We took the horse back. sometimes it just isn't worth the hastle with people.

If you have the room and time, I would take him back, and then re-advertise him.

We sold a lovely cob quite a few years ago to a lady who was local to us, who has supposedly brought our boy to keep for herself and go hunting on - which he loved. However, within a week of her taking him from us, she was arranging to sell him on!! So we took her money back to her and took our lovely boy back home with us. We then re-advertised him and found him a lovely home - which he then stayed there for the rest of his days.

I think it is really important to find the right home for your pony.

Take him back and find someone who can be bothered to spend the time to help him settle. Hope you get it sorted whatever you decide

I totally agree with Echodomino. I wouldn't hesitate to take him back - these people are clearly foolish and as such would you want your horse remaining with them? What else might they not know? Nope I'd go get my cash out of the bank, hook my trailer up and bring the horse home.
