My horse had a chipped canon bone injury which happened July last year, the last 2 months she's been lame on twice but all of a sudden sound again! In the meantime, i noticed she wasnt moving right, i took her in the school and se that she wasn't tracking up like she usually does! Had a feel down her legs & her hind leg was swollen with slight heat in it. She must have had a bad fall too out in the field as she would barely let me touch her hind thigh! (Due to her gallopping around like a loon). called the vet as presumed the worse, he advised to bute for 2 days and see how she goes. Anyway he came out after 3 days and said it was nothing worrie about and i can start riding from Monday (today) but im still not sure as her leg is slightly up still (feels like 2 small balloons either side just above her fetlock) even though shes tracking up well now & showing no sign on pain, im still not convinced its just a "type of fall shes had" Surely it would have gone down by now?!?! Im so paranoid she's had so many knocks, kicks and inurys the past few months, and shes not the calmest of horse neither so she dont help herself!
Has anyone ever come across anything simular? what would u do? i just dont want to make anything worse if it is anything if u see what i mean
