I need opinions please guys... Here's the situation...
I've had Freddie for 5 months. When I got him I had him on a small yard for one month until a space became available at the yard owners other, larger yard, which was a five minute hack away.
It didn't work out there, for a few reasons, but mainly because it was only kids and I spent most of the time on my own. I the sort of person who gets bored in my own company (as I've mentioned in posts before) and thrive on a busy, sociable environment where horses are concerned.
So we moved to another yard after a month at the second yard...
This is where we are currently... however... I'm not happy. Again, the yard is like ghost town most evenings and weekends, which is awful for me as I'm quite a nervous rider without someone to boot me up the backside, and I don't feel I'm getting the most out of my horse.
I have the oppurtunity to move again, to a yard with a great riding instructor/producer on site, that has given me a few lessons at my current place already and who gives me so much confidence. It'd give me the oppurtunity to put Freddie on schooling livery as/when/if I needed, have lessons when I need to, get support from other people, further our showing 'career' when I eventually have the time... just so many benefits...
So what do I do?! Do I move him AGAIN or would it be wrong to uproot him for what will effectively be the third time??
I can't afford the move yet anyway (livery is slightly more) but my job is due to become a lot more stable in the near future, which would enable me to afford the extra costs... so do I just bite the bullet and go for it or do I sit tight and make the best of where we are now?
He's only four and has had a lot to deal with in his small life, but he does seem pretty happy go lucky and takes most things in his stride. I really think we'd both benefit hugely from being at this other yard but am so worried that it'll be too much for him.
ETA: Also, I'd like to put him on schooling livery for two weeks there over winter anyway, so that would involve moving him there and moving him back again... or do you think that'd not be wise? Would it be best to move him completely, move him and move him back, or not move him at all?? Gah, I just don't know what to do for the best!!
