what would you do if you arrived at the stables to go and ride your horse to find its being used in the riding school(not once 5 times!!) without being told and half of your tack/rugs (that was bought by me) have gone missing?

Thats what has happened to me this morning, I can't continue at this yard any longer!, As most most of you know we have been haing a few problems with sharers and the yard for a while, Nevadas owners told the riding school 7 months ago when I started loaning him that he did not want him being used in the riding school, but they have completley ignored him, I just find this yard so rude, I am not treated like a livery, The yard manager is constantly rude towards me (according to her I am not special, so other liveries can do what they want and I'm not allowed to do anything). I have decided that I'm not loaning him anymore and I went to the tackshop today to look at the noticeboard and found 3 for loan so I'm going to be contacting people later.

You're a full loan person or a sharer?

The tack I would be furious about, but learn the lesson about keeping it locked away.

The RS use of him is disgusting: I would have a chat with his owner and get them to speak to RS directly. That way you can also just double check that they haven't agreed to anything you're not aware of.

ok so you loan the horse and pay for livery etc and they have been using him to give riding lessons i would be fuming, tell them you want some money off of livery and back dated etc.

I do working livery with horse, keept at a riding school, and if she was used so many times in 1 day without my being told I would also be cross. Mine is always available all day mon and tues and after school (11 yr old son rides her) and sat and sun afternoons, just for our use.I do keep good tack and her meds and bandages ect in a box in boot of car,
I would voice your concerns to the "owner" and put them in the picture, because livery is being paid and it is being abused by school. Good luck with finding another share.

id go to the owner of your horse and explain exactly why your breaking off the loan and all the issues you have had with the RS...even if they dont fix the problem for you with the riding school at least they will no what is going on!!poor horse 5 times in one day!

i work at a rs the horses are not used past 2 hours in a day and thats spread out, if working livery owner says not to use the horse it is respected. The owner's always have priorty over the other riders...they are the ones that pay the bills.
as for tack thing - all working liveries usually have their own stuff which is kept out of the way from rs use....we never use their own stuff certainly not without prior consent and they are all very well looked after.

I would at least have a chat to the owner to see if she knows of this misuse as it is very excesive 5 times in a day...poor horses.

If you really like the current horse why dont you speak with owner and ask if you could move firstly, then if they say no - then look at another horse?.

Good luck and let us know what owner says...i'd be horrified if my horse was being used that much esp as it shouldn't be used in rs.

If you want to keep the horse I would contact owner. Explain what is happening and look for reaction. Give notice on loan agreement and reasons why. If the owner doesnt move the horse or go mad with yard owner- then my feelings would be they know and are either not bothered or trying to maybe earn a fast buck?? Do you pay owner or yard? Maybe me being cynical
