Bit torn my freind has helped me since getting my lovely colt, by letting me keep him at her field and helping me on the odd day not that i needed it but just since i have injured myself i cant get up there for a few weeks and mum has been up there two, but he cant stay at that field he has to move to a field which is well out off the way meaning a 35minute drive everyday and my freind said she would help me but i want to be able to do him myself, another lady i know has offered me a field with 3acres which is very close to where my other 2 horses are, literally a mile away, just he would be on his own, was maybe thinking getting a little new forester which is already handled to give him company. but i just dont want to upset my freind :(.

This 3acre field is £60 extra and i would have to provide hay for them both but that doesnt really matter, and now i have been told there is a little new forest colt going for free or going to slaughter :( i am going to be paying in petrol anyway for the extra

ahh what do i do :/

move to the new place I think. Do you need 4 horses? Would it be easier to just have 2? maybe get the NF colt them have both gelded and sell them on.

Mine and my mums we have our two riding/competition horses and my yearling who i am keeping! Was not planning on getting a new forest but he cannot come to the yard where my other two are because he cannot be gelded and has to be gelded before coming, but the nf would just be company for him, then would sell that on next year when he can be gelded. So would have my 2 riding horses and my yearling, He is not going anywhere!!

Ohhh yes that was the plan!! but had the vet out and he has not fully dropped yet, so sadly living with my other horses is not a option for the winter :(, hence why my friend helped me out as he was only meant to be staying at hers for 2weeks while he was gelded,

I would Geld. Chances ate of he hasn't dropped yet he's not going to. So I would crack on with his operation and then have all your horses together.

If he was 3 I would agree with you but he's a yearling!

why risk a GA and major surgery? if you wait they will drop when ready and it's then a straight forward procedure.

No way are we putting him through a major operation, vet has said they are there just not fully dropped he has said he will be ready in march he is a big boy being 15.1 already this can happen in bigger youngsters!
