Evening all!

A very rare opportunity to rent a room in one of the beautiful houses in the village closest to my yard has arisen! I spoke to the lady today (she is a live in landlady) and she seems lovely, we have loads in common and she has a horse too!! I am going to view it on sunday. Its a flat in a huge georgian house its also £100 cheaper a month than my brixton box room! Don't get me wrong I love my current place also a georgian ground floor flat and the people I live with are great! However after two years in the city its not really doing anything for me anymore. All my spare time is spent with Dizzy and to be able to reduce my journey time to her from an hour to 10mins will be amazing. She is currently on full livery monday to friday (even though I only work tuesdays, thursday mornings and some fridays plus running my business from home) so being closer would mean she could go on more of a part livery!
The thing is it would be a very fast transition as in moving on the 1st november (I have spoken to my current landlord and he seems to think he can fill my current room pretty quickly I just have to give him a decision on sunday) My gut is telling me this is a great thing to do, better quality of life for cheaper but still 45mins into the city when I need to. BUT my practical side which has developed over the past couple of years is saying its to quick!
Especially as its only a month since Dizzy arrived and its a lot of change.

I am a devonshire country girl originally and grew up on a beef and dairy farm so is it time to go back? I could also be getting massively ahead of myself as I haven't even been to meet her yet! We could hate each other haha!
My head has gone into over drive though!

I don't understand why you're worrying about it? Seems perfect to me, a no-brainer

Go & meet the lady, see what the room's like & then make your final decision.

I was living in Acton during the week & coming home weekends when I got my first horse; very soon I realised that being in London was, for me, fairly pointless. I didn't take advantage of having everything on my doorstep, and was spending 3/4 nights a week wishing I were back home. Within 3 months of having Red I moved back home & commuted; my client base had changed at that point to be less London based anyway (not now though  ). Don't regret it for a minute, especially as we then got a lovely house in a village even closer to the yard :)

I actually don't know why I am worrying about it! It is no brainer if the situation is right with the lady I will be living with and I LOVE the village.

I am in exactly the same position as you were, living in London horse just outside. And I wanted to move in the new year to be closer to her but then this room showed up so I think will go for it if its right. Ahhhh it could be a very exciting two weeks! I can hack to my house if I move there haha!

And boosboos it will make winter a lot more enjoyable being closer!

The only think i'd worry about is if you work from home alot, will it work around the land lady as well? Sorry i dont know what you do and how/where you work. I would personally prefer to share a house with someone that isnt there where i am and vice versa but thats just me, i dont like to think i'm under someones feet! x

Sounds brilliant though xx

Yes I do worry about that as well. However I am a photographer mainly doing weddings and horse portraits/shows etc some commercial stuff but not much. I do work part time as a nanny 13hours on tuesdays and thursdays and some fridays. My home stuff is editing, website updating and marketing but most of the time I am at a shoot or with the horse so I won't be working from home a lot not like if I was running an online shop etc. I spoke to her about it and she seemed absolutely fine with my adverse hours haha. She also seemed very excited about the prospect of living with another horsey girl as her cob is kept just down the road! We could hack together :)

Ahh thank you guys! I really hope that it is too! The whole situation has seemed to of come up at just the right time :)
I love the country! Even when I didn't have Dizzy I found any excuse to be out of the city (I only moved to London to get the ball rolling with my business) and when my friend got her horse (the motivation to get my own again) I was up at the yard every weekend anyway haha!
And at least my current housemates (all city lovers and work the 9-5) won't have to put up with my smelly horse stuff anymore ;)
Just spoke to my mum as well and she said that she thinks its a very sensible idea :) which is my conformation as she is always the first to tell me that I am rushing something!
