What would you do..?

Im a bit confused with what to do. I have three horses - well two ponies and 1 horse. My 2nd pony is out on loan at the moment - she is 14 and is doing well. I have owned both my ponies for 17 years and am very fond of them. I have always sworn never to sell any of my horses but I am in a dilema. The girl who is loaning my pony has stated she does not have enough room for her next March 2008 - if she can find somewhere else to have her and still wants to loan her that would be great but if not would I have her back.
I am now in two minds...should it be heart over mind or mind over heart..?
I am used to her being away, my older pony has stopped pining for her and is mates with my new horse, and I only rent a bigger field in the summer so it would be a struggle for me to have three horses in a little field over winter.
The last few times I have visited she was very settled and didnt even reakonise me which was quite upsetting as I was so dedicated to her.
Do I contemplate selling her or trying to get her out on loan again. I did have a problem loaning her as she can be hard to handle and is not a childs pony - more a small experienced adult pony. In her current situation she is going to shows, jumping, loaded well and has much to give...
any suggestions...?

hmmm sounds like a tricky situation, she sounds as if she is v. settled and getting on well with the girl who has her now. It is up to you what you do really but I wouldn't sell her (especially if she can be a difficult pony, as you would have no say over who she might be sold on to if things don't work out unless you asked to have first opputunity to buy her back should things not work out with a new owner) I would try and find her a new loan home, at least you can still have some control over what she does and still go and visit her regularly. If you can I would sell her, although you may find it even harder to sell her than loan her. I wish you all the best what ever you decide
