My horse is 10, I’ve owned him since he was 5. Since I got him he has always suffered with gastric ulcers. I unknowingly bought him with ulcers and not matter what I do they always come back. He has had a full veterinary check, lameness assessment, checks for arthritis, etc
He’s a stressy horse in general and has now developed asthma and is now showing signs of gastric ulcers for the 5th time. I’ve maxed out his insurance and ulcers treatment is getting way too much for me.
Vets can’t understand why he keeps getting ulcers and now on top he’s got this asthma
Am I in the wrong of thinking to putting him to sleep? I can’t afford another field ornament and if he’s constantly getting ulcers but vets can’t seem to find any issue with him I don’t know what else I can do.
must add - he’s in barely any work at the moment, always has hay left in the morning, always fed chaff before we do ride, never left without a friend
