Sorry its a long one!!!!!!!

I love my yard. Its great the people and everything is great. But I have a 5yr old that needs regular work and needs bringing on alot in the school. But our school is awful!! It floods terribly in the rain and is unridable for days after. The YO never gets it leveled so in places it is over 1ft deep so must be very uncomortable for horse and dangerous!! And is too risky to jump properly.

Eventually I want to SJ my mare but i cant see me getting anywhere if i can hardly ride as the school is soo poor.
We have considered leaving but we like every other thing about the yard.
What should I do? Any suggestions???

i personally would leave but leave on good terms with every one. And befor you leave have a really good look around at yards. Also why dont you suggest different ideas for the shcool i.e. rubber, under cover ...? < i no pricey

I sympathise with you when it comes to the school getting flooded when it rains as our does it, the instructor that came to the yard threatened not to teach there if we didn't get it sorted But we have since spoken the YO and he said in the autumn he will redo the school and give us a lunge arena Maybe it is worth speakin to the YO and seeing if the arena can be improved
Have a look at yards in your area and see what is on offer

I have spoken to YO many times and so have other liveries and it goes out one ear and out the other!!
She would much rather do everything cheaply or not do it!

I would hire elsewhere.

A good friendly yard is hard to find you only have to read thread after thread of unhappy customers to know that you have got yourself a little haven.

I'd look round for somewhere else. I thought the place I was at before was fab but it didnt have a school and I thought that was the only draw back, since moving to my new yard though I have realised how much better everything is! At least if you leave on good terms you can always go back!!

I would tell them you're seriously thinking of leaving because of the state of the school. It would be very expensive to hire out an arena a couple of times a week wouldn't it? On top of your livery bill which supposedly includes the use of a school! You're lucky if you find the perfect yard, but a functional school is obviously very important to you.

Definitely have a look round first though!!

Yeh i think we are going to have a look around and yes would be expensive to hire out another school as no schools are within hacking distance so would have to travel and not really got time to all that everytime i want to ride!

It has gone far beyond a joke my instuctor wont even give me lessons there anymore either!!

Why don't you just 'mention' that, if the school was better, YO could make more money by hiring it out? Might help persuade him/her to improve it.
