Ok, you may recall me posting and saying my lab (6yrs) needed her hips replaceD? She was at that stage weighing just under 40Kg. The vets said yes she needed done, she was not a happy dog, was limping quite a bit.
She has not slimmed down to 35.5kg and is noticeably thinner and generally much happier. She limps less, although can still be stiff.
What I am wondering now is what extra benefit is putting her through the operation going to do? Will it improve her quality of life in older age or is it going to give her a lot more mobility still?
Anyone any advice?

Not spoken to them yet as I'm not at home now, may wait and see what happens when she hits her target weight(33KG) and then go in for a check up.

I would speak to your vet and also seek a 2nd opinion, when any of our animals require treatment that is not the norm then we seek a 2nd opinion from a vet, it does no harm . if you need help i will give you the number of the Crufts vet, she is AMAZING and could give you all the answers.
