15.1hh cob mare, 7yo, broken last yr then turned away and started again 6 months ago - done sj, dr, xc schooling (jumping ditches, water, corners etc), hunt ride, showing etc...can be a bit spooky hacking alone due to not doing a lot

opinions please :)

i'd say no more than £1000 , i'm being generous too, maybe £800 :o

it has done a lot in 6 months but cobs are so cheap atm you can buy one around here for about £80 (although smaller 14hh ish) the bigger cobs if easy are more expensive and more sort after
they would normally be used to being tethered next to main roads and being dragged about/ridden by yobs so are fairly quiet and easy going

Really!?

She's quite a smart looking girl, nice nature, starting to work in a reasonable outline. Thought you might say a bit more.

If she is decent temperament, well conformed and well started she could be worth 3k - if she is a side of the road type then perhaps half that. I doubt you'll find one her age that is a decent ride anywhere in the country for £1000 even in the current climate.

i paid £600 for this

Sound, safe and easy to do, has show experience and has shown to be good XC? £2k (soundness provisos obviously).

Perfectly feasible she's done all that in 6 months... She's 7, not a baby. Al had a 5yo in who was backed this summer, and by October had done an ODE, was schooling at BE80 and was doing 85cm SJ classes, and had done several shows with placings in dressage classes... He didn't do much, just very focused work.

I'm going to add, bargains are flukes. You get lucky to find them and they generally come with several provisos initially even if they turn out to be unnecessary.

What weight is she, colour, does she move straight and is she ID or vanner type.

id say £2000 if shes nice :} and ill take all the 14hh 7 year old cob mares you can find for £80 angelish

get yourself up here ;) (north east)
there was a lovely palomino sold for £60 a couple of weeks ago and a very nicely marked little colt foal to make about 15hh went free to a good home because they just couldn't sell it

the bigger cobs are worth a bit more like i said but they are still not worth very much around here i'm afraid , but it does obviously depend on the horse
