Just looking for a few fresh ideas/info off people before winter approaches..............

14year old, 15.2 arab, has had laminitis once in the past so have to keep this in mind with regards to weight etc. Currently just has a handful of Hi-fi twice a day so he's not left out when the others are fed, keeps weight on well all year round. Out for about 10-12hrs a day ~(muzzle in summer).

I'm thinking of adding a general vitamin and mineral supplement for general wellbeing and to improve coat condition, any recommendations? Also something for his joints as he has just got the start of arthritis in his hocks, a bit clicky when ridden. Ridden about 4 times a week - hacking, schooling, with the occasional jumping/fun ride.

What would you feed or reccommend? Thanks!

I would recommend NAF Slimline. Its a general vit and min supplement as well as helping to boost the metabolism and keep your horse slim.

I think the best thing for joints in Feedmark ExtraFlex HA. Know alot of people who rate it.

I was going to say Top Spec Anti Lam too. Highest specification of any balancer on the market, although Baileys Lo-Cal is still pretty good and cheaper.

My 22yo arab lives out (strip grazing to control grass intake), and does very well with Baileys Lo-cal feed balancer. Since she has been on it lots of people have said how good she looks - bright eyes, shiny coat, happy horse! and no laminitis. She loves it.

keep to the hi-fi but add either the alfa a balancer or topspec senior.....both contain full vit/min spec plus glucosimine for joints.
