I was just wondering what you would feed a 12yr old 15.3hh french trotter x arab, doing this amount of work?
Monday - 40 mins hack, mostly tracks and hills (including a bit of schooling if we go the right way for a field!), or an hours lesson - flat (we starting lessons again and have only had one!!)
Tuseday - day off, or mum walks him out for 15/20mins (no light)
Wednesday - Hack, can be between 1hr and 2hrs30, again tracks and hills, with a few long stretches for gallops.
Thursday - day off, or like tuseday (no light)
Friday - 20mins schooling, can't do longer at the moment - no light!
Saturday - 40 mins hack and then 20mins schooling afterwards.
Sunday - 20 mins on roads (to build confidence) and then about 20 mins comin ghome on tracks, hills.
And does this sound ok? Will be easier once we have moved!! This is a rough guide though as some friday's i can't ride, and sometimes i school instead of hacking....etc!!
thanks
I'm not going to change what he is on, as it seems to work well for him, i was just curious. If we up his work load (include more lessons, and possibly comps then we will think about how he is!!)
