your current breed? Obviously we all know :p that CC and MM have GSDs, that Spudlet, KirstyHen and others have spangles, that I have greyhounds and so on, but is there any really different breed you have ever thought about?

I have just commented on a daschund (sp?) post and it got me thinking as I love them :) Would help if I could spell it I suppose.... also am increasingly keen on GSDs  thanks to Klaus on our yard and meeting MM's lovely dogs :):)

Cayla is exempt from this cos she has every breed known to man, usually all at the same time :D

I have a schipperkee - he's a fab little dog and I also have a patterdale terrier and used to have my favourite breed a swedish vallhund. The last one was a bit noisy and vocal but so good with any other animal. Love GSDs had 2 in the past, but don't like the hip problems they are prone to!

I will only ever have bull breeds but if a stray terrier passed my door it could move in. Or possibly a dane, mastiff, boerbal etc etc

Any GSD's, Spaniels, skinny minnie whippets etc can keep on walking :D
(although I'd obviously care for them until a new home could be found.)

I wouldn't have anything with:
- very short legs
- very wrinkly/excess skin
- very long high maintenance coat
- very short thin coat or one that needs regular clipping
- a smooshy snout
- that is prissy and doesn't like rain/wind/exercise
- anything smaller than my knee, or that I have to bend down to pat the head of

:o

That leaves most of the spitzy things, GSDs, some hounds, setters and collies. Next dog will be a GSD, another sibe or a shiba, and when I am old and grey I will have Irish wolfhounds. :)

I like short coated sleek looking dogs mainly and I've always hankered after Italian greyhounds and promised myself one when i retire :D but I also love standard poodles, border collies (the shorter haired ones), and rotties weirdly enough!

I absolutely couldn't have anything that slobbered or had such a short nose it couldn't breathe properly or anything with a coat that needed more maintenance than the above but basically I see something I like in most dogs and any stray who turned up at my door would probably end up staying

It's got to be a gundog breed - other than that I don't know! Probably a working bred lab or an HPR breed.:)

i have a collie x spaniel and i want a full spaniel in around 18 mnths !.... but im thinking i would rather rescue one instead :)

i love puppies but im not sure if i can handle another :D.... so would rather rescue a dog (7+) and let it live out its days with me and my spaniel :)

I have a terrier mix and I do like all the different "sorts" you can get. I get carried away looking at rescue centres pages, all those many terriers! :o

I couldn't be doing with anything bigger than a terrier and they fit my lifestyle perfectly so can't see me having anything else. I do want a Border Terrier though, a pedigree that looks like a scruff, fantastic. :D Again, I'd probably go with a rescue, the thought of a puppy terrifies me!

Probably whatever med-large dog i found in rescue that suited my lifestyle as don't really have the time for puppies, perhaps a staffy or lurcher as quite drawn to them.

I have a dachshund, and my mum has a white GSD. Both are lovely dogs, i've always quite liked labs and spaniels, well most working dogs actually.

Ooooo someone mentioned Rotties, had forgotten about them :) On/off BF keeps asking me whether Cayla still has the rottie in her rescue kennels as he wants one

I have always had terriers and probably always will. But I do find myself admiring and imagining an Italian Spinone sitting next to my fire.....................

:D my favourite dog is a deerhound, used to own one many years ago and would love another but already have 2 dogs in a tiny cottage(and NO money!!) also would like a border collie.....

Well my first thought was a working cocker but that is still a spaniel so I'll have to think again.
It would have to be a border collie, a lab or a GSD - I have had all of these breeds in the past and love them all:D
If I was to choose a breed that I have never owned I would also love an Italian Spinone although I'm not sure I could cope with the coat!:D

Collies! Id have lots and lots of collies... :D

All i wanted was a bc and somehow ive filled my house to capacity with a bull breed and a tys breed :( :p

I would have Rhodesian Ridgebacks they are good house dogs and would keep undesirables at bay.

I have always loved GSD but too many health issues so perhaps a Malanois or Groenedal.

But I cant see myself with anything other than a Dobe they suit me so well.

I have often said that one day I will have a greyhound/lurcher. If I am allowed a breed I have had before I would like another Lancs heeler, I also saw Portugese Podengos at Crufts and was very taken by them, but apparently they are real hunters so not sure if one would be a good idea with all the bunnies round here, would spend all my time looking for the damn thing.:p

A Beauceron, and if I completely lost my head, perhaps a Dutch herder.
I've also flirted with the idea of a Komondor or an English bully in the past.

Y&C, (and Dobiegirl, a bit :p) I must be lucky, I've never had a GSD with hip problems :)

Can't ever see myself not having staffies but do have a soft spot for grayhounds and lurchers! I think grayhounds are so beautiful but their desire for short bouts of exercise would not suit a staffie...! do quite like GSDs as my friend has them and her fast growing pup is really lovely..

I couldn't imagine being without my terrier-ists and am quite partial to my gundogs (GWP/HWV) the hairier the better.

But I would absolutely LOVE a Pug

If you send me your active doglets for a weekend of running companionship, I'll pop Prince in the post for you. Be forewarned: he likes to follow you everywhere, stare into your eyes for prolonged periods of time, occasionally run for about five seconds, and eat whatever is in his path.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSS PLEEEEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSSEEEE!!!!

I'll send you Mouse, she follows you everywhere, stares into your eyes and if you dare look away, pushes her head under your arm or into your face and will not desist until you fuss her and you're not allowed to stop, she'll have a mad skit, demand more cuddles, eats almost anything especially poo flavoured lol! Oh she's active too and loves agility so running wont be an issue

I really want one of these cant say it or spell it (had to copy and paste it) but like it lots - It's a herder of course what else and a bit of a challenge just like the the Aussie blokes I have now a Lapinporokoira.

Done deal. Stella would love a real wrestling companion for the weekend. Her attempts to goad Prince to play only work half the time. Prince is also a big poo eater, with pretty shoddy recall should he get a whiff of geese poop. Luckily, he's going nowhere especially fast :D
