Hey everyone starting to do DIY livery and just wondering what to charge, was thinking £35 a week including haylage and turning in and out, how does this sound(west yorkshire area)?

Small yard 15 stables, all year turnout, off road hacking and arena:)thanks any help would be very much appreciated

you going to make profit on that?...thats good value I'd rip your arm off for that i'll be paying £32.50/wk thats just for stable and field everything else done by me or I have to pay for the service...

Our yard charges £35 for stable, turnout, use of school and bring in & rug changing everyday we have to pay for all hay and bedding though. This is in the east midlands.

Thanks Merlywerly and Tilda hopefully might be on the right lines, Merlywerly- might not be making a fortune but empty stables which i am paying rent for isnt making me anything so hopeing those few extra pounds profit will all add up:)thanks for your help

Anyone else?:)

I'm moving to a yard that's £33 a week incl hay, haylage and straw. Indoor (albeit quite small), outdoor school, indoor barn, walker, and wash box. I'd say that was pretty reasonable. People would pay that without the turning in and out.

Personally I would be wary of including haylage, hay or straw in the price as liveries will take the mick and feel free to waste more, plus it is hard to justify between a 11hh pony and 17.2hh Shire! Could you have a fixed price for liveries who don't want haylage and a different fixed price for people which includes 2 bales a week etc.. ?

I pay £100 a month (in advance) for stable, storage, secure tack room, plenty of grazing, 24/7 TO in the summer and daily in winter, manege, toilet and tea making facilities. Hay is £5 for a 22-24kg bale, straw £2 and haylage £5.50 (Equilage).

What are similar set ups in the area charging?

Our DIY livery is £85 a month and we are the cheapest in the area - we should really charge more but we've had the same liveries for ages and don't have a sandschool. Doesn't include anything on top, but we do order in the hayledge, bedding, feed etc.

The cheapest I've every paid for DIY livery was £15 p/w stable, turnout and use of school. Very good value! But was completely unmanaged. I have recently been paying £95 a month for DIY, stable, turnout and use of school (limited). Have however decided it works out cheaper to pay £60 week for full livery all in, when I added up the cost of the little services, haylage, straw... Am very lucky to of stumbled across some good yards in my area (Airedale area, west yorkshire). I do however wish I'd found DIY for £35, think that is cracking value, especially if that includes hay and bedding and a turning out and bringing in sevice... Thats what I'd class as part livery.
