what would you pay for a friesian 2009 colt . that is handled lightly but needs more training ,ive been offered one and ,he would be gelded will be trained for farrier etc and comes with fps papers excellent confo and temperment , im intreasted but wanna know what your willing to pay once trained ,and if he would sell ok

Ummm... not sure in the current economic climate...

As a reference, i bought my yearling back in 2007, FPS registered (though i had to do this myself as she had not been registered by the seller, so that cost about £350), STER dam and World Champion Sire, imported from Holland. Nice little filly, not done anything so a lovely blank canvas for me, but being mostly unhandled would be a problem for some people i suppose. I paid £3400 for her anway, if that helps at all.

I think good quality friesians are still selling well, the FHAGBI newsletter is a good place to advertise, so im told!

If i had the money (dreams) I would pay £3000 even though would try and knock them down on the price as i do like a bargain. My friend sold her pure-bred but not registered (as she ddint know how) for a little less than this and i know people that have paid more than this for a pure-bred from non-fps approved Stallions.

I think, even in the current market, you would still be looking at £3000, maybe more if he has 'specially good breeding

Who is the dam's sire?

Just out of interest, Fetse has two of my all time top-ten approved stallions in his lineage, Mark 232 and Wessel 237.

not to sure on that one ,will ask
but also may be taking on another but a filly by Dries x Piter

Need pics! I keep telling myself that I really haven't the time for three horses, two is plenty, but I am soooooo tempted to go and get another one. Saw a half brother to my youngster and had to hide my cheque book from myself!

i know what you mean these are purely money investments as they are cheap due to not be handle etc so going to put a deposit down today ,
i did see my mares antie awhile back but didnt have room to take on so i had to sit on my hands and cheque book then
