Reg. Connemara, Gelding, 6yrs, 14.1hh

Lovely laid back pony has been produced slowly. He would be suited to a jumping/eventing pony but could also be great for a pony club/riding club home.

He has a happy mouth bit all the time when riding – he is not strong or fizzy.
Easy to ride on the flat with basic flatwork established. Lovely paces. He is ready to go out and do a dressage test. He is used to white boards.

He’s not fizzy coming into the fence and is learning to get the correct stride without any help from the rider. He has jumped up to 90cm with current owners but felt like he stepped over it. He can definitely go further. He is very straight forward going into a fence and takes everything in his stride. He’s never looked at fillers.

He has been xc training, jumping everything up to 90cm (we didn’t want to push him). He never stopped and was taking his rider into fences (she didn’t need to encourage him) and went through water, over ditches, skinnies, raised logs and colourful fences without looking.

He has attended pony club rallies and camp, where he was laid back when standing around, waiting and whilst being ridden.

He has been lunged with a roller and side reins as well as a pessoa before that. He has been jumped on the lunge, and was fine. He has been ridden on his own and in company, which he was fine with both.

He has hunted with previous owners and jumped hedges.

He is currently barefoot, but previous owners brought him with shoes on and took them off. He was great with the farrier and stood their quietly whilst 2 dogs were running and barking around him. His teeth were in great shape when the dentist came and, once again, no problem at all. He stood quietly for his jab with the vet and passed a 2 stage vetting earlier on in the year.

He is now ready to take out and compete. . Looking for a knowledgeable home to continue his education.

i was thinking £3-3.5k. he's a lovely pony

He sounds worth his weigt in gold if you ask me, any good for showing?

Has he actually competed? Sorry if you have mentioned this and i missed it. Connies seem to go for an abosolute fortune, and he sounds like a gem, but I guess you have to take the 'current climate' into account, financially. Though maybe someone looking at spending £4 - £6 grand on a pony wouldn;t be too affected by it?

he is only young but hes a grade 3! he has got good paces and, even though i dont think he would be good enough for grade 1, grade 2 is where he should be.

when we brought him, his neck was v. short but with the correct flatwork, his body now looks in proportion. i dont know how to get images up, ive got one of him about 6 weeks ago before i started doing some flatwork. his muscle has changed so much but its all i can give.

can someone tell me how to put a piccy up plz!

he hasnt competed but were going to enter him into a one day event but with a twist at the end of the month. no tack or rugs as was a project pony for the summer - only had him for about 6-10wks

Maybe i'm just tight, but in this current climate there are loads of lovely ponies up for grabs at half the price.
