What Would you think if you saw..

With the hunters have always rode & lead. Lead horse has a lead bridle on. One was a sod to leave so I use to just ride him & lead off him. We are country roads narrow high stone walls on both sides. Never had a prob in 7 years. AAlso we get milk tankers & school buses.
Also when they are a bit fitter we canter lead as well. Use to regular 2 of us ride & lead & canter & horses were trained not to give any sh**!! Could also do gates on them when leading!
Suppose it is just what you are brought up with to be normal!!
So long as you are safe I have no problem with what anyone does.

I am afraid that in this day and age with every more impatient and aggressive drivings and vehicles going at ever increasing speed with little regard to anyone else that I would not ride and lead in the part of the world I am in. The roads are just too busy and the small lanes too dangerous.

It is estimated that there are 3 horse related road accidents in Great Britain each day.

I also think that in all fairness to all road users and the horses that anyone riding out should have completed the BHS Road Safety Course and test as this gives riders another invaluable skill and also teaches them to be polite to other road users something some riders do not do and therefore increasee the risk of motorists driving badly around other riders they meet on the roads.
