for a small eventing class-showjumping and crosscountry-its a laid back event but would you wear light coloured jods or black? any ideas appriciated 
what would you wear.....

I would wear light jods for any competition, looks smarter.

Light every time. 
Unless you are in North America, coloured breeches are just not right to my mind. It looks sloppy and disrespectful - to yourself, your horse and the organisers, if you take the effort to turn your horse out nicely than have the pride to do the same for yourself...I'm old fashioned.
